Thank you to everyone who participated in our engagement and consultation process for the Local Transport Plan (LTP). Following the closure of the public consultation and wider engagement, the LTP was adopted by Cabinet in December 2025.

Silverdale Greenway Barrier Redesign Survey
The Greenway has barriers because of concerns about the safety of path users and residents, particularly due to antisocial use of motorbikes.
Staffordshire County Council (SCC) and Walk Wheel Cycle Trust , working with Newcastle Borough Council, looked at ways to improve accessibility by changing the barriers to enable legitimate access to the Silverdale Greenway in line with the equality act.
In September 2025 Staffordshire County Council and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust worked together to redesign the barriers to make the path easier to use.
