Welcome to Staffordshire County Council&#39;s Let&#39;s Talk Engagement website.Let&#39;s Talk Staffordshire aims to be a safe and trusted community space where you can get information, and share your thoughts and ideas, about local issues and initiatives. &nbsp;Your views, ideas and experiences will help make Staffordshire a place where people can prosper, be healthy and happy.

Let&rsquo;s Talk Transport is the easiest way for people to get involved in shaping the future of Staffordshire&rsquo;s transport network. In 2024, we&rsquo;re developing a new Local Transport Plan. It will describe Staffordshire&#39;s future transport network and the practical steps we, and others, need to take to get there. The plan will include all the ways we get around, and how we manage our roads. The plan, it is our shared vision for the future of transport in our area. It will include everything from our vision to The plan will:o Outline the future vision for our transport network in 2050, together with the policies, plans, and programmes needed to realise it. o Describe our aspirations for walking, cycling, wheeling, public transport, rail, car-based travel, and freight.o Describe our aspirations regarding the management and maintenance of local roads.o Explain how we will prioritise, fund, deliver and monitor the schemes necessary to achieve the vision.o Set out our &#39;asks&#39; of our partners and Government, whose cooperation is essential to realise the vision.o Align with, and support, the council&rsquo;s broader strategies, plans, and priorities. Get InvolvedWe&rsquo;re putting this plan together with the help of Staffordshire residents, local businesses and key partners. Support can include helping with basic daily living tasks, personal care and going out and about in the local community.PA&rsquo;s are typically directly employed by a person using a Direct Payment (DP) or using their own funds, meaning the person is responsible for things like the PA&#39;s tax and national insurance. However, some PA&rsquo;s may be self-employed, meaning the PA is responsible for things like tax and national insurance. Sometimes, self-employed PA&#39;s might be known as a micro-provider. We know being a PA can be a great job and provides fantastic support to people! However, people have told us they would like more information and support to help with successful recruitment and retention.We would like to hear more from Staffordshire residents to help us shape our future offer:&bull; People (and their representatives) who are currently supported by a PA (regardless of how this is funded) or who might think about this type of support in the future.&bull; People who currently work as a PA (directly employed or self-employed) or who might think about this as a future employment opportunity. We would welcome your feedback by Sunday 26 May 2024.

Supporting Personal Assistants in Social Care 

Staffordshire’s communities are a huge part of what makes this such a great county. When people come together to help out, amazing things happen. That’s why we launched #DoingOurBit in 2019 – a campaign asking residents to get involved with their communities and encouraging people to help themselves, each other, and the place that they live. However, we know that things have changed since we started #DoingOurBit. The pandemic, and pressures from the increasing cost of living, mean that things can be tough for our communities, and people are having to adapt. We are all facing new challenges every day. With less money available and more people needing support, the council and our partners are also having to do things differently. Why we are askingIn response to these changes, we are updating how we work with communities. We want to hear from you about what makes your community great and what matters most, as well as collect your great ideas about how we can support Staffordshire’s communities to get more involved and improve their local areas. Engaging with our communities will give us the opportunity to collect these ideas and make them part of what we do in the future, so that we can all keep on ‘doing our bit’ together to make sure Staffordshire continues to be a great place to live and work.How you can take part If you live, work or study in Staffordshire, we want to hear your views. What we will do with your answersOnce the engagement has closed, all information received will be analysed by the Council and a written summary report of the key findings will be produced to support the development of a Staffordshire Communities Strategy. Your answers are anonymous and the survey results will be stored securely within Staffordshire County Council’s engagement system. We will publish the results of this engagement here on Let's Talk Staffordshire. All completed resident surveys are eligible to enter a draw to win a Family Day Ticket to Trentham Gardens. Doing Our Bit for Staffordshire’s Communities 

The registration service is responsible for registering life events that occur in Staffordshire. We register all births and deaths occurring in Staffordshire, produce copy certificates, and administer and conduct marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, citizenship ceremonies, as well as non-statutory ceremonies such as vow-renewals and baby naming.The service operates from five full-time offices in Burton, Cannock, Lichfield, Newcastle and Stafford, and also open several part-time offices by appointment. These offices are open from 9am-5pm, and offer some availability on Saturday mornings. We are always looking at ways we can improve our service to Staffordshire residents, and are interested in understanding what people are looking for in a modern registration service that would give the best experience to those who require our services.This survey is a great way to tell us what you want from the service, when we should be available and what services you want.
