Staffordshire County Council is exploring ways to help residents without driveways charge Electric Vehicles (EVs) safely and affordably at home. This survey is aimed at people who currently park on the street or do not have a driveway or dedicated off-street parking space.
One option under consideration is a cross‑pavement solution (also known as an EV gully). This involves installing a small channel in the pavement that allows a charging cable to run safely between a home charge point and a vehicle parked on the street, without creating a trip hazard.
We are seeking views to help us understand the level of demand for these solutions, and how much people may be willing or able to contribute towards the cost of installation. Some costs may be supported through Staffordshire County Council’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund, which aims to improve charging options for households without off‑street parking.
The information you provide will help shape future decisions and inform the potential development of a fair and effective scheme for Staffordshire. Please note that completing this survey does not guarantee installation or the delivery of any future cross-pavement projects.
The survey takes up to 10 minutes to complete and will close on Sunday 26th July, so please share your views before the deadline.
