As people age it is important they are supported to remain at home and live independently for as long as possible. Where staying at home is no longer possible, we need to ensure the right care and support is available as people need it.
To support this work the county council is refreshing its Commissioning Strategy for Older People in Staffordshire. The strategy is basically a plan that will set out the principles of how we will support older people as they age.
To do this, we want to hear from you. We need your help to understand how we can support people to stay in their own homes and live independently for as long as possible, and provide the right care and support as they need it.
The Council considers services which provide care and support to people over the age of 65 as “Older People” specific. However, we are interested in hearing from people who have experience of social care support for older people, either themselves or through a family member or friend, or people who may be thinking about the support they will need in later life. We would especially like to hear from those aged 50 and over.
If you would like to fill in the survey on behalf of someone else, and also for yourself, you are welcome to complete the survey more than once. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and the information we receive will really help us when we put together our strategy.
