What are the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and why are they important?

Good mental wellbeing helps you to sleep better, feel better, do what matters to you and build positive relationships. It also makes it easier to cope when life is difficult.

Looking after your mental wellbeing isn't just for when you feel low or stressed - it is worth investing in all the time, just like your physical health

Research shows that there are five actions we can all take to make us feel happier, healthier and have a greater sense of mental wellbeing.

These actions are:

Be Active
- walk, run dance, cycle, garden

Connect - with family, friends, neighbours, colleagues

Give - smile, listen, volunteer

Keep Learning - new experiences, new hobbies

Take Notice - of your feelings, your surroundings, be present

Together these five actions are called the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
